Despite not making too many announcements during the transfer window, Kaizer Chiefs has extended contracts of their youngsters, before transfer window close midnight. Six of the seven players who were awarded contract extension come from Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development. Reeve Frosler who joined Amakhosi from Bidvest Wits in 2019 has extended his contract until June 2025. Frosler has played 73 matches in all competitions since he joined the Glamour Boys. Another player who received three-year extension is happy Mashiane. Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Bruce Bvuma, Keletso Sifama and Thaba Mokoena will be with Amakhosi until 2024. Bvuma has been with the first team club for five years now since he’s been promoted from development and he’s also part of Bafana Bafana squad recently. And, Mokoena who was loaned to Pretoria Callies is back at Naturena after his contract extension. Mamelodi Sundowns has finally find the signature of Teboho Mokoena from Supersport United after attracting rivals in the league and few clubs in Europe . The two Tshwane teams have agreed terms    for permanent move with immediate effect. Mokoena contract with Matsatsantsa was set to expire in June 2022.  “Supersport United and Mamelodi Sundowns have agreed terms for the permanent move of Bafana Bafana midfielder Teboho Mokoena with immediate effect for an undisclosed fee.” Supersport United statement.   Premier Soccer League have announced monthly accolades this morning, Monday 2022. Co- coaches Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena have continued to be honoured on individual awards. Mamelodi Sundowns co-coaches were awarded third consecutive DStv premiership coach of the month award, as they were honoured for December 2021 prizes. Sundowns is still leading the log standing under Mngqithi and Mokwena after losing one match against Amazulu. Andile Jali was named DStv premiership player of the month. Jali is amongst players who played lot of matches at Sundowns since the season has started. Sundowns midfielder has beaten his teammate Peter Shalulile, Kwame Peprah of Orlando Pirates, Eva Nga from Chippa United and Victor Letsoalo of Royal AM.   Vuyo Mere has joined TS Galaxy after parting ways with his former team Swallows FC few days ago. Nevertheless, Mere deal was set to expire at the end of the season. “Mere has penned an 18-month deal with the Rockets. He boasts a wealth of experience in the elite league having risen to prominence back in 2001” - the club confirmed on their statement. “ The 37 years-old was part of the squad who helped Swallows to be promoted to the top flight in 2020 after winning GladAfrica Championship.   Africa Cup of Nation is set to kick-off on Sunday evening. The host Cameroon will face Les Etalons “Burkina Faso” on the opening day of the tournament. Fifteen players from Premier Soccer League will be participating on the tournament. All the players come from eleven different teams in DStv premiership and Glad Africa championship. It’ll be the second time in history of African football to have 24 countries participating in this tournament. The first time this expansion happen it was in 2019 when Egypt was the host nation. The defending champions Algeria are looking to defend this title after beat Senegal in 2019 in Cairo, Egypt. The final for the tournament will be played on 6 February 2022.
