Kaizer Chiefs has extended contracts of seven youngsters from their camp

  Despite not making too many announcements during the transfer window, Kaizer Chiefs has extended contracts of their youngsters, before transfer window close midnight. Six of the seven players who were awarded contract extension come from Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development. Reeve Frosler who joined Amakhosi from Bidvest Wits in 2019 has extended his contract until June 2025. Frosler has played 73 matches in all competitions since he joined the Glamour Boys. Another player who received three-year extension is happy Mashiane. Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Bruce Bvuma, Keletso Sifama and Thaba Mokoena will be with Amakhosi until 2024. Bvuma has been with the first team club for five years now since he’s been promoted from development and he’s also part of Bafana Bafana squad recently. And, Mokoena who was loaned to Pretoria Callies is back at Naturena after his contract extension. Attacking midfielder Sabelo Radebe has signed a long-term contract with Kaizer Chiefs that will end in 2026. Bibo

Sundowns sign Teboho Mokoena

Mamelodi Sundowns has finally find the signature of Teboho Mokoena from Supersport United after attracting rivals in the league and few clubs in Europe . The two Tshwane teams have agreed terms    for permanent move with immediate effect. Mokoena contract with Matsatsantsa was set to expire in June 2022.  “Supersport United and Mamelodi Sundowns have agreed terms for the permanent move of Bafana Bafana midfielder Teboho Mokoena with immediate effect for an undisclosed fee.” Supersport United statement. Mokoena  has signed a three and half year contract with an option to extend at Chloorkop.  The Bethlehem born has played 156 matches for Supersport United in all competitions since he was promoted to the first team. And, he hold 15 caps for Bafana Bafana after making his debut in, March 2018. Broos confirm Bafana Bafana next opposition.

  Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has confirmed two opponents  that South Africa will face in March. South Africa hasn’t play any match since they lost 1 - 0 against Black Stars in World Cup qualifiers in November 2021 last year. Hugo Broos troops are also not taking place in AFCON tournament that’s currently taking place in Cameroon recently after be beaten by Sudan.  The 1996 Africa Cup of Nations winners will face France in March during FIFA international break. The last time these two sides met was in 2010 FIFA World Cup that was held in South Africa for the first time in history of football. PSL announce December winners

  Premier Soccer League have announced monthly accolades this morning, Monday 2022. Co- coaches Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena have continued to be honoured on individual awards. Mamelodi Sundowns co-coaches were awarded third consecutive DStv premiership coach of the month award, as they were honoured for December 2021 prizes. Sundowns is still leading the log standing under Mngqithi and Mokwena after losing one match against Amazulu. Andile Jali was named DStv premiership player of the month. Jali is amongst players who played lot of matches at Sundowns since the season has started. Sundowns midfielder has beaten his teammate Peter Shalulile, Kwame Peprah of Orlando Pirates, Eva Nga from Chippa United and Victor Letsoalo of Royal AM. A stunning goal from Kaizer Chiefs youngster Nkosingiphile Ngcobo against Sekhukhune United, was voted as the goal of the month. Therefore, all the winners will receive a trophy and R 7 000 of the league sponsors.

Confirmed: Mere join TS Galaxy

  Vuyo Mere has joined TS Galaxy after parting ways with his former team Swallows FC few days ago. Nevertheless, Mere deal was set to expire at the end of the season. “Mere has penned an 18-month deal with the Rockets. He boasts a wealth of experience in the elite league having risen to prominence back in 2001” - the club confirmed on their statement. “ The 37 years-old was part of the squad who helped Swallows to be promoted to the top flight in 2020 after winning GladAfrica Championship. Later, he fell out of favour with the club, and he last featured for the Dube Birds in 24 October last year against Chippa United. The former Platinum Stars and Bidvest Wits right back is the third player to have been signed by Tim Sukazi team after they sign Shane Roberts and Lefa Hlongwane.

Nedbank Cup fixtures confirmed

 Nedbank Cup last 32 draw has been confirmed. The tournament will be played by eight teams from ABC Motsepe league, Eight teams from GladAfrica Championship and sixteen teams from DStv premiership. Defending champions Marumo Gallants previously known as Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila will host Golden Arrows. And, last season finalists Chippa United will play against GladAfrica Championship club University of Pretoria. Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs will face TS Galaxy who have beaten them 1- 0 in 2018 final which take place in Moses Mabhida Stadium. Fifteen PSL players will participate at AFCON

  Africa Cup of Nation is set to kick-off on Sunday evening. The host Cameroon will face Les Etalons “Burkina Faso” on the opening day of the tournament. Fifteen players from Premier Soccer League will be participating on the tournament. All the players come from eleven different teams in DStv premiership and Glad Africa championship. It’ll be the second time in history of African football to have 24 countries participating in this tournament. The first time this expansion happen it was in 2019 when Egypt was the host nation. The defending champions Algeria are looking to defend this title after beat Senegal in 2019 in Cairo, Egypt. The final for the tournament will be played on 6 February 2022. PSL announce DStv Compact Cup Squads

  The Premier Soccer League has announced the squads for the DStv Compact Cup during their press conference on Wednesday. The tournament is set to take place from the 22 to 29 January 2022. While Africa Cup of Nation is taking in Cameroon. Fans were being privileged to  vote for their favourite players to be in the teams. And, they still need to vote for players to be in the starting lineups. The first stage of voting was closed on Monday, 3 January 2022. Each team is made up of two goalkeepers, eight defenders, eight midfielders, four strikers and four players from Multichoice Diski Challenge. Inland one will be called Dinaledi FC and Dan Malesela will be the head coach. Inland two is named Warriors FC which will be led by Dylan Kerr while coastal one is Amabutho that’ll be guided by Ernst Middendorp, who’ll be assisted by Abram Nteo. And, coastal two is Coastal United FC guided by Steven Barker and Job Maphutha. Here is the list of full squads:

PSL announce a new prosecutor

Premier Soccer League chairman Dr Irvin Khoza has announced that Zola Majavu is back to the PSL as a new prosecutor. Zola Majavu previously served as PSL CEO for less than four months from July to October 2011. Majavu comes in after the resignation of prosecutor Nande Becker, who resigned with immediate effect on 30 November 2021, after eight years of with the PSL.

Amazulu chairman rubbished claims that Sithebe is joining Chiefs

Despite reports suggesting that Kaizer Chiefs has signed Amazulu playmaker, Siyethemba Sithebe. Amazulu chairman Sandile Zungu has rubbished claims that Sithebe has left the club. Zungu has confirmed that he hasn’t been in contact with Chiefs about the player. And, he’ll be upset if the Glamour Boys are trying to sign the player behind his back. “Just think about it, how could he have signed or joined Kaizer Chiefs? It’s not permitted by Fifa rules, it would be in breach, and I don’t think Chiefs would want to do that. As far as I know, he is our player until further notice,” Zungu told  Soccer Laduma. “I have also read in the media that it’s a done deal at Chiefs, but I ask myself how can they do that. Not so long ago they were in a controversy that barred them from signing players [the two window Fifa transfer ban] because they breached the rules.
