Machaka hope Chiefs keep Billiat

Image
With  few matches left  before 2022/23 DStv Premiership season end, Kaizer Chiefs popular fan Machaka Mashilo is hoping Amakhosi will not release the Zimbabwean born Khama Billiat at the end of the season.  The 31-year-old  joined the  Soweto Giants in 2018 on a free transfer after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns.  Billiat contract with Chiefs will expire at the end of the current season. With no indications of whether Amakhosi will extend Billiat contract or not the former Ajax Cape Town player is free to sign a pre-contract with a club of his choice according to FIFA rules.  Kaizer Chiefs faithful supporter Machaka Masilo hope Amakhosi will extend Billiat contract further despite not playing a lot of matches for Chiefs this season.  Machaka believes Billiat has a lot to offer at Kaizer Chiefs. “ We still need Khama, he’s a good player [and] he won champions league with Sundowns. He came to Kaizer Chiefs he couldn’t produce the results he produced when he was at Sundowns ,” says Machaka i

Zwane Not Worried On Chances Missed

Image
Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane is not too much worried about the chances that his strikers couldn’t convert against AmaZulu at FNB stadium. Amakhosi came from behind to play 1-1 stalemate against AmaZulu in their first leg MTN8 semi-final. The visiting team went 10-men early in the second half after Veluyeke Zulu get a second yellow card.   Ashley Du Preez had a chance to give Chiefs the equaliser his shot went over the crossbar. Bimenyimana, also had a chance to score his third goal at Soweto giants from a close range but, the centre forward couldn’t capitalise.   However, Zwane is not too concerned about the chances his club missed says they will go back and fix their finishing. “Not really, a game of football you create chances you know and score… it’s a game of mistakes, it’s a game that teaches you to rectify your mistakes,” Zwane said in the post-match press conference at FNB Stadium. “We’re obviously going to go back to training and polish our finishing because like you

Truter Want Away Goal Against Chiefs

Brandon Truter wants away goal on Sunday afternoon when his team will be facing Kaizer Chiefs at FNB stadium on MTN8 semi final first leg. Chiefs and Usuthu have already tested each other on DStv Premiership clash earlier this month which ended in goalless draw. “We want to come away with an advantage in the first leg and I’m saying an advantage with an away goal,” said Truter The last time these two sides met in a top eight semifinals was back in 1994 , when Amakhosi won the match 2-1 when the tournament was known as Bp top eight.   Usuthu mentor is concerned with how his team has been conceding soft goals in previous matches, but he’s looking for clean sheet on Sunday. “But we are conceding goals cheaply at the moment and a clean sheet will be nice. Not shutting the backdoor or anything like that, but come here with an advantage and all to play for at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. “With our fans behind us, I know we can count on them and the AmaZulu faithful are loud, they are behind

Zwane Gives Update On Billiat

Image
Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has confirmed that Khama Billiat has returned to training but still not sure if he’ll take part on weekend fixture. Billiat is yet to score for the Glamour boys this season in all competitions. The Zimbabwean was the top goalscorer for Amakhosi last season. With Billiat returning to training on Tuesday, Zwane confirmed some other players who picked up injuries in Macufe cup on Sunday.   “We got a few knocks in Macufe, Sabelo Radebe… Happy did not train yesterday when we started, Khama is still doubtful, he also just started training yesterday,” said Zwane. “When it comes to fitness, he’s still not sure. I think the rest of the guys will be available if nothing happens during the course of the preparations. “We’re looking forward to the game, we just hope that even those who are injured will be available by Friday because it will be matchday minus one and we want to be sure that we are ready for the game.” Amakhosi have not won silverware in eight year

Jose Riveiro On Kermit Erasmus

Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro is impressed about the addition of Kermit Erasmus into his team despite training only few times with the club. Erasmus made his return to the Buccaneers last week on a deadline day of the transfer window. The experience striker signed a two-year contract with the Sea Robbers. The Spaniard born Riveiro is impressed with Erasmus fitness and professionalism at training, and believes that the 32-year-old can make his second spell debut on weekend against his former team. “Well, I’ve found an experienced player – smart, professional because he’s in good fitness levels, which tells me that he was taking care of himself, and it’s a ready, plug-and-play player,” said Riveiro. “He’s ready to perform and train, and it takes time of course [because] he’s just arrived a few days ago and has had a few experiences with the group, with the team and the methods so far, so we need to be patient. Riveiro believes that previous achievements cannot be used against

Lakay: It Was A Shock To Me Too

Image
DStv Premiership defender of the season Lyle Lakay is still shocked about his return to Cape Town City on the deadline of the transfer window. Lakay was the first choice left full-back for Masandawana last season. The 31-year-old made 25 league appearances for Mamelodi Sundowns last season. However, his move to Cape Town City was unexpected to him because he was getting game time at Sundowns despite competing with talented Aubrey Modiba and Sifiso Ngobeni. "Everybody says this move came as a suprise. It was a shock to me too. One minute I was in JHB and then I was told the next day I must get ready to go to Cape Town. It wasn't my decision at all and City was the club I was told I'm going to" Lakay told Thabiso Mosia on SA FM "There were no other options offered. I would have liked to stay and fight for my place.I did so when Aubrey came,Ngobeni and others but like I said it wasn't my decision. Maybe things were made easier by the fact that I'm returnin
