Official: Hunt reunite with Matsatsantsa.


 

SuperSport United has re-unite with Gavin Hunt on a two year deal ahead of the new season.


Hunt joined Matsatsantsa in 2007 and led the team to a historic three consecutive league championship titles between 2008 and 2010, with a Nedbank Cup title under his belt in 2012.  


He later left Pretoria based team in 2013 for Bidvest Wits and won the league title and MTN 8 trophy in the 2016/17 season as well as the Telkom Knock-Out trophy in the 2017/18 season. 


The 57 years old expressed his excitement to work with young players and the challenge ahead of the new season.


”I am really excited and looking forward to the challenge ahead, especially to work with the younger players at the club and build the team to ensure the club is successful and competitive In the PSL. I am looking forward to this challenge,” said former Chippa United coach. 

 

Four time PSL winner technical team will include Andre Arendse who was the caretaker coach after the departure of Tembo, Thabo September, Rescoe Krieling and Grant Johnson. 


Stan Matthews, the chief executive officer of SuperSport United said: “He has a great history with our club and his coaching record speaks for itself. We have some fantastic young talent that will benefit from Gavin’s vast experience and caching ability, and we look forward to him blending our youth with the  experienced players we have and new players who will be joining us in the weeks ahead.”
