Banyana Are Through To WAFCON Finals.
Banyana Banyana have beaten 1 - 0 Zambia to progress to Women’s Africa Cup Of Nations Finals for the second time in a row.
Desiree Ellis made three changes to his starting lineup that beat Tunisia last week against the Copper Queens.
Zambia had chance to hurt Banyana in the fourth minute of the game, but Grace Chanda attempt went wide of Andile Dlamini’s goal, as the South African goalkeeper gathered comfortably.
South Africa enjoyed the possession of the ball at Stade Mohamed V Casablanca, but they couldn’t create enough goal scoring opportunities against the Copper Queens who were more dangerous than Banyana when they attack.
Noxolo Cesane was brought down in the 59th minute on the edge of the area, but after a VAR check, it was brought back to being a free kick. And, Jermaine Seoposenwe’s effort from the set piece was deflected behind.
Seoposenwe was fouled in the box and a VAR check was made in the stoppage time which resulted in Banyana being awarded a penalty. Linda Motlhalo stepped up to take the penalty and convert it.
Banyana will face Nigeria or Morocco in the final of WAFCON.
