Pirates announce new faces after releasing big names.
Orlando Pirates have confirmed new signings ahead of the 2022/23 season. The Buccaneers finished the DStv premiership in sixth place after playing their catch up games after the season ended.
Bienvenu Eva Nga, Miguel Tim, Azola Matrose and Evidence Makgopa are fresh faces added to The Sea Robbers squad ahead of the new season.
Last week, Pirates announced the signing of Nkosinathi Sibisi from Golden Arrows after they released Thulani Hlatshwayo who didn’t get enough game time at the club last season.
On the other hand, the Soweto Giants have released Kwanda Mngonyama, Abel Mabaso, Justice Chabalala, Elson Sithole, Wayne Sandilands and Thabang Monare. These six players have joined the leaving pack after Thulani Hlatshwayo and co-coach Fadlu Davis who were released by the club a week ago.
“Sandilands contract comes to an end on June 30 and will not be renewed; however, the club is currently in discussions with management regarding another role at the club,” read a Pirates statement.
“The club can also confirm that contractual discussions with Monare have collapsed as the two parties could not agree on terms.”
