Golden Arrows have played a goalless draw against Sekhukhune United at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, Durban.
Abafana Bes’thende have avoided a third straight loss and a return to defensive strength after suffering a 6-0 against Mamelodi Sundowns. On the other hand, Sekhukhune have stretched their winless run in the league to seven games.
The two teams have only a point separating them on the log, Golden Arrows are ninth with 32 points, Babina Noko tenth with 31 points and played out a 1-1 draw when they first met back in September 2021.
AmaKhosi suffered a 1-0 defeat to Stellenbosch leaving the side five points behind second-place Royal AM.
Chiefs enjoyed most of the ball against Stellies but couldn’t find the back of the net.
The interim coach Arthur Zwane have claimed that the team is afraid of playing after back to back defeats.
"But obviously we were forced to make changes that would take the game to them, then we had to take 'Rama' [Ramahlwe Mphahlele] out and put on [Kearyn] Baccus to give us that advantage going forward but unfortunately, I think at the moment the boys are afraid of playing.
"We're encouraging them to play. Look it's not going to change overnight, it's going to take some time but I think the last 20, if not 25 minutes we just needed that cutting-edge inside the box.
"So much promising, the movement off the ball was getting there, we'll keep on encouraging them to keep on playing the way we want them to play, feel free and express themselves and when the time is right, they will start banging in goals."- Zwane told SuperSport after the game.
Marumo Gallants and SuperSport United played out a 0-0 draw in their DStv Premiership clash.
Both teams took time to settle into a rhythm, and Gallants looked the more fluid outfit when they managed to bring Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo and Katlego Otladisa into play.
However, they suffered a couple of injury blows through the course of the first half, as both Ayanda Nkili and Thabo Mnyamane succumbed to knocks, being replaced by Tshepo Gumede (16th minute) and Lerato Lamola (38th minute) respectively.
