It's not over yet for Bafana
Bafana
Bafana have continued to lead the World cup qualifying group G table after beating
Zimbabwe 1 – 0 at FNB stadium. Teboho Mokoena goal on the 26th
minute put South Africa on top of the table.
The
victory against the Warriors have put South Africa on 13 points and three
points clear away from Ghana who are in second position with ten points.
However,
Hugo Broos troops they still need to face a desperate Ghana on Sunday evening. A win
or a draw in Ghana will book Bafana Bafana their ticket for the third-round
play-offs, while a Ghana win will see Bafana and the Black Stars both end on 13
points and then the goal difference will decide based on FIFA rules.
It
should be noted, a 1-0 win to Ghana would already be enough for the Black Stars
to overtake Bafana on the log based on the overall goals scored. Both teams
would end with the same goal difference (+4), if Ghana win by one goal, but the
Black Stars will have more goals scored (7 vs 6).
South Africa are facing Black Stars on Sunday evening, which will be a match decider for both teams to progress to next round of qualifications.
