It has to take 120 minutes and Dannis Onyango experience for Mamelodi Sundowns to win the MTN 8 for the first time after 14 years. Masandawna started well with the opening goal from Thapelo Morena until Fagrie Lakay equalises in the second half. Both teams struggled to find the winning goal in the opening play which led to Mamelodi Sundowns winning the match 3-2 on penalties. Dannis Onyango became the hero of the match after he saved five penatilies.  On the other hand, Idumba Fasika red card on extra time has forced the citizens to play more safely until they try their luck on penalties which didn’t go on their favour. Bafana Ba Style will be awarded with R8 million after becoming the last standing team from the tournament. Moreover, Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi has became the first coach win the MTN8 twice after winning it with Golden Arrows in 2009.
