Sundowns win a treble

  Thapelo Morena late goal on extra time have given The Brazilians treble after they beat Marumo Gallants 2 - 1, Saturday evening.  Nedbank Cup final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Marumo Gallants will go to the history books after both teams tested    each other regularly. Gallants didn’t show any signs of being a small team in South African football, instead they were attacking Sundowns from the first half of the match.  However, Peter Shalulile managed to find the back of the net after Miquel Timm lose the close to Gaston Sirino who provided a cross to Shalulile. Dan Dance Malesela made changes in the second half that gave him an equalizer from Junior Dion in the 75th minute. But, the player was substituted again later after Bahlabani Ba Ntwa playmaker Philip Ndlondlo get a questionable red card during extra time.   Gallants being one man down have given    Sundowns the upper hand and Masandawana got a goal from Thapelo Morena two minutes before the end of extra time.  The victory fo

Kaizer Motaung Comment On Zwane Appointment.

  Kaizer Chiefs chairman has expressed his excitement of Arthur Zwane being appointed as the head coach of the Glamour Boys. Zwane affectionally known as “10111” has been given the head coach role after signing three year contract with the Amakhosi.  He also studied for his coaching badges and obtained a UEFA B Licence Coaching Badge, as well as CAF A and B Licence Coaching Badges. He retired in 2010 to become assistant to Vladimir Vermezovic at Kaizer Chiefs and worked with the first team until May 2012, maintaining his role under Doctor Khumalo and Ace Khuse after they replaced the departing Vermezovic late in the season.   Fourteenth edition of Nedbank Cup final is set to take place on Saturday evening when Mamelodi Sundowns face Marumo Gallants.  The tournament is known for small team beating big giants “David vs Goliath”. But, Masandawana will be looking for revenge after losing to TTM on semifinals last year. Marumo Gallants who were known as Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila last season have knocked out Mamelodi Sundowns 6 – 5 on penalties last year at Loftus Versfeld. But, Mamelodi Sundowns have never lost to Marumo Gallants FC in their past five meetings. Furthermore, Sundowns are unbeatable at Royal Bafokeng Stadium.  Mamelodi Sundowns have never lost to Marumo Gallants FC in their past five meetings and they are looking to win treble this season. Breaking: Kaizer Chiefs appoint Arthur Zwane

  Kaizer Chiefs have announced Arthur Zwane as the new permanent head coach after taking over from Stuart Baxter last month. Amakhosi hosted a press conference at the FNB Stadium on Thursday, to unveil Zwane as the new head coach and he will be assisted by Dillon Sheppard. Both coaches have been given three years contract at the Glamour Boys. Both Zwane and Sheppard, took over from Baxter for the final seven games of the season, lost their first three games before seeing the campaign out with two wins and two draws. Chiefs have finished the league on fourth position but they are at risk of dropping to the fifth position on the log as the DStv Premiership season is yet to end with Orlando Pirates, Royal AM and SuperSport United have matches to play. 

Wrap: Gallants And Sundowns Book Their Spot For Nedbank Cup Final.

  Marumo Gallants have a chance to defend their Nedbank Cup trophy after beating TTM on Friday. Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila have conceded an own from Luvolwethu Mpeta in the 64th minutes of the match.  Gallants will automatically qualify for CAF Confederation Cup since The Brazilians have already won the DStv premiership and will play CAF Champions League.  Mamelodi Sundowns are also through to the final after beating Royal AM 2 - 1 at Chatsworth stadium. Masandawana had two shots on tight against Mam’Khize side but managed two convert them.  Sundowns and Royal Am will face each other again on the last match of the season.  After the match the draw was made to decide which team will be the host team between Bahlabane Ba Ntwa and The Brazilians. And, Sundowns will be the host team and will have the privilege to choose the kit they want to use, dressing room etc. The final will play at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on the 28 May at 18:00 CAT.   

Banyana will face Nigeria in AWCON 2022 Group stages.

  Banyana Banyana are in the same group with defending Nigeria who beat them in the last final of the AWCON. The TotalEnergies Women Africa Cup Of Nations 2022 starts on 2nd of July at Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat. The hosts Morocco will face Burkina Faso in the opening match. Nasal El Moutawekal from Morocco and Ajara Njaya from Cameroon were participating in the ceremony with CAF Competitions Director Samson Adamu for the draw.
