SAFA announced a new coach.
South Africa Football Association (SAFA) has finally announced Hugo Broos as the new coach of Bafana Bafana. Broos is replacing Molefi Ntseki who was sacked last month. Broos won the prestigious Coach of the Year award four times in his career. Twice coaching Club Brugge in both 1992 and 1996, once with Anderlecht in 2004 and finally in 2007 with KRC Genk. He also won the Africa Cup of Nation with Cameroon in 2017. SAFA CEO, Tebogo Motlanthe has confirmed that the mandate of the new coach is to qualify to the 2022 world cup. After receiving more than 200 applications. Broos, who has been jobless since he parted ways with Belgian First Division A club KV Oostende in 2019, has signed a five-year contract with the national team.
